NEW BIOINFO CLUSTER

The main resource of the Bioinformatics Core of the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine is a parallel computing cluster based on seven Cisco Blade Servers (Intel 6226R 2.9GHz) for a total of 224 cores (448 threads) with 256 GB of RAM and a Working Storage Area of 100 TB of disk.

Compared to the old cluster (nirvana) on the new one we will have a different resource manager, switching from Torque to Slurm. To convert the commands used so far you can consult this link or downlod the 'Rosetta Stone'.

On the new cluster each enabled user will have an available quota of 1Tb. For special needs a temporary expansion of the available space can be requested.
The space available on the cluster is considered exclusively as working area, it is not allowed to use your own space as storage area. Once the analysis is complete, the data must be moved to other areas made available by IT for all Tigem groups.

Those interested in starting to use our cluster can contact us so that they can be added to the list of enabled users.
